It can also be used in capture/thermal desorption pretreatment methods and is designated as a filler by the USA EPA and NIOSH. Tenax TA is used to analyze high boiling point substances such as alcohols, polyethylene glycol, diols, phenols, monoamines, diamines, ethanolamines, aldehydes, ketones, and chlorobenzene.
